Snow Dragon
Snow Dragon
SnowDragon is a heavy metal band hailing from Bismarck North Dakota. Formed in 1980 by schoolmates Heinrich Wolffman, Rolf Kuntz and Oly Welk. Starting as a trio, the band played original material all over North Dakota in bars, festivals and Oktoberfests. Shortly after recording a demo, Oly quits to pursue his dream of Professional snowmobiling racing. Friends Michael Schelske and Francis Schlenker soon took Oly’s place, replacing him with the trademark twin axe attack SnowDragon is known for. With the addition of Karl Koppinger on bass (Heinrich takes full time duty on lead vocals), the final line up is set. After a few years on their own, and being showcased by PolkaDot Records in Bismarck, they meet Dr. Col. Ian Fienstein. Dr. Col. Signed the band to That-a-Lad Records based in Los Angeles. The relationship was tumultuous at best, with the band coming out with the short end of the stick. Fienstein stole the best tracks and sold them to other bands, without SnowDragon’s knowledge. Those other bands became rich and famous off those great tunes. After many years apart, they have rejoined forces. They are ready to show the world who influenced the most popular metal bands of all time. Ready to set the record straight and tell their story with their own music. They have taken back their catalogue to play those songs as they were meant. They are ready to rock your face off!
